JUNE 2020 UPDATE
After over a year of anticipation and excitement, we have been looking forward to celebrating the heart work of some of our region’s most compassionate, selfless, and caring social workers at the inaugural S.W.A.G Awards: Social Worker Appreciation of Greatness Awards Ceremony.
However, given the ongoing pandemic and health risks of convening large groups indoors, our event committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the Awards Ceremony again. It is with deep regret that we will not hold the S.W.A.G. Awards on July, 25, 2020
We are aware that Allegheny County has moved to the green phase of reopening businesses and public spaces, but after consulting with health experts, we feel that postponement is the responsible decision to maintain the health, safety and well-being of all awardees and participants.
We have worked with the Hosanna House to reschedule the S.W.A.G awards to March 28, 2021. We are thankful for their flexibility and support in this matter. If ticket holders are unable to attend on March 28, 2021, we will work with them to resale their tickets to the people on the waitlist. Sponsorships and advertisements will be honored on the new date.
As a profession dedicated to building health and wellness with deep integrity, it is our duty to prioritize the well-being of social workers, guests, and the community.
This has been an extremely taxing and stressful few months for all of us. Now more than ever, we are looking forward to honoring social workers as we fight against two pandemics plaguing this county: health and systemic racism. Please find time to practice good self-care, which may include limiting exposure to media outlets, identifying safe people and taking time to go inward.
We will keep you posted on additional details. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at info@theswagawards.com.
Sincerely,

MARCH 2020 UPDATE
After a year of anticipation and excitement; we were all looking forward to celebrating the heart work of some of our region's most compassionate, selfless, and caring social workers.
Due to the progression of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the difficult, yet necessary and responsible decision to postpone the S.W.A.G Awards. Although we were under 250 attendees; the governor's recommended number of guests to suspend events and had preventative measures in place, we felt it was imperative that we act swiftly and practice caution as the situation escalates.
We have worked with Hosanna house to reschedule the S.W.A.G ceremony to Saturday, July 25th, 2020. We are thankful for their flexibility and support in this matter.
If the postponed date does not accommodate ticket holders, we will work with them to resale their ticket-this is a sold-out event with a wait list.
This has been an extremely taxing and stressful few weeks for all of us. Please find time to practice good self-care, which may include limiting exposure to media outlets.
We will continue to keep you posted on additional details.
Sincerely,
Sharise
