The SWAG Awards were created to honor the often unappreciated and unrecognized work of local social work heroes.

 

For the first time in SWAG history, during the 3rd Annual SWAG Awards, the SWAG Awards was given a proclamation from the City of Pittsburgh Mayor's office to recognize the impactful work of social workers in the community. March 25 is SWAG day.

 

The goal of the 4th Annual SWAG awards ceremony is to recognize 7 social workers and 2 social work specialty categories in the Greater Pittsburgh Area who exemplify servant leadership through their commitment to promote advocacy social justice generational health building stronger communities

 

These social workers will be nominated by their peers and selected by a nomination committee. We will also recognize a parental figure, guardian, or mentor of an awardee for their support throughout their social work career with the Andre B Hemby "There for Me" Social Worker Supporter during the ceremony.

 

The SWAG Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 5:00pm -7:30pm.
